JBL GTO628 6 5 Inch 2 Way Loudspeaker

After reading many reviews on these speakers, i decided to give them a chance. I have 4 of them mounted in the doors of a chevy blazer. They are being powered with 75 watts RMS power by a jl audio e6450 amp. I was concerned that would too much for them to handle, but they sound absolutely stellar all the way up to (and beyond) volumes that would cause hearing loss. All the while without any distortion. To the couple of people wrote reviews in which you seemed unsatisfied with the bass response---- these are 6.5 inch speakers, not subwoofers. In my opinion they sound great all the way down to frequencies that a 6.5 speaker should. If you want more bass consider adding a subwoofer.

That said, anyone buying these speakers who will be using a separate amplifier should consider using dynamat. My doors vibrate when the volume is turned up and it becomes very noticable when the speakers are playing notes with the resonate frequencies of the doors. With my windows up i can stand 100 feet from the car and clearly understand the vocals of a song.....thats how loud these are -which is why my next purchase is dynamat.

In summary, these speakers are awesome! Buy them! You will be glad you did.

Impressed with the trueness and sizing of the last. A true 12 narrow. Not too tight. My toes don't bump the front like so many shoes out there. My feet are not constrained. Feel more like my favorite Cole Hahn loafers in 12 N. Difficult to find a quality shoe in Narrow. My old Sperrys started falling apart,but not bad after 15 years. These seem more comfortable and substantial. I read too many reviews about the newer Sperrys and their quality. Heard that Sebago makes an excellent shoe. Interior lining is all leather, as is the footbed. This is a step up from my Sperry Topsiders, but have the same "feel". Choice of Narrows in terms of color etc. in the Sebago Docksiders made me contact the company for a list of what they had available in a Narrow width. Very helpful. The Schooners have a little more support than my old topsiders ever did. Am just breaking them in now, with socks on, before going minimalist in them. So far so good. Different sole design from the Topsiders for those who will use them on boats. Don't seem to mar. So I have crossed the street after 30 years with Sperry and am now wearing my first Sebago's. Good thing I am not back on the Cape and having my friends accuse me of being a turn-coat. Now there is a place that has a rivalry over these brands that could make political party conflict pale in comparison. Not on a boat anymore. Just High Desert. And these are well-made shoes. Beautiful leather and color. Works great in the sand and on the street. Remember, the ocean was here at one time. If this becomes beach front property again, I'll be ready.

Paris Street Style Guide Effortless

I read this book last night cover to cover. At first flip, I was almost disappointed by so many photos of very in-fashion, super-skinny 20-somethings in Balenciaga that I almost didn't bother. As trendy as the girls appear, the book would have no more value than a magazine because of how fast fashion moves today. The real value to me ended up being the interviews (which in most fashion books, I skip because they are full of the nonsense designers for very in-fashion, super-skinny 20-somethings like to say such as "it's all about confidence"; there are self-help books for that). While there is some of that "fluff", most of the young, striving French designers interviewed had relevant advice, strong opinions about the mass-driven market, and even surprising perspectives (one actually advocated VPLs). So, after all, I ended up really devouring the book and learning something new.

Then, on really studying the photos, there were indeed less expensive items thrown in on top of the Celine, Hermes, and Balenciaga, and even a few women older than 30 (I am 32.) You also start to see some the personal items that set apart the French uniform. This book is very French (as you would expect from the title), and for all the talk about French women being relentlessly unique, Americans who favor risk-taking in dress will first notice the conformity under all the one-of-a-kind accessories. The French favor that form of fashion-schizophrenia that New Yorkers do, just with fewer colors (the same formula that dictates floral dresses must have biker boots, etc., as rigidly codified as anything from the 1950s), but this book will help you make that formula look good instead of just plain crazy. It will encourage you to take a new look at formerly old and "out" clothes that you have in your closet which may be just the things you need to really set yourself apart. I almost wish it had included a beauty section, too, but except for the more mature model/designers featured, the younger women are all interchangeable in hair and makeup.

Perhaps I sound too critical, but actually I mean it as a compliment. The reason I am even taking the time to write a review (my first) is that this book deserves praise for daring to attempt something sorely missing from most fashion literature: originality, depth, and definition. It does bring a different perspective to this country from overseas, and interviews from fresh designers who are not yet Karl Lagerfeld will interest those still seeking creativity in dress. Overall, I will enjoy it more the more times I read it!
