Ralph Lauren Blazer KELLY Color

Ralph Lauren Blazer KELLY Color

I have a 2003 VW Eurovan and changed out the radio back when I bought it new to a Blaupunkt. I then changed it out a few years down the road to another one because I had no use for the CD changer under the seat and liked the idea of a SD card and front audio input. That radio was damaged on a camling trip. So, I noticed that Blaupunkt was being sold in the US again and I went after a deal on Amazon for $120 for this radio. I also bought the external microphone. I liked the Blaupunkt because it plugs right into a VW (the only change is that you have to switch the 12V switched with the 12V battery). I also had a Blaupunkt subwoofer and Thummer (steering wheel control). It took me about 10 minutes to switch the radio over and find a place to stick the microphone.

Everything works as advertised. I can sync my iPhone through Bluetooth for music and phone calls. The call quality is great because of the added microphone. I even ran a cable out from the back USB port on the radio and can now charge my iPhone and have either a direct connection for music or still use the Bluetooth. It's to the point, that I can leave the iPhone in my pocket and it syncs up right away. In addition to this, my Blaupunkt Thummer which I bought back in 1999 (its been in 3 different cars) works like a champ. I can control the radio from the steering wheel.

Only things that I can find wrong with it, is that if you leave the radio on all of the time but it is switched on and off from the ignition, is that the Bluetooth might not hook up right away and it defaults to AM when you get in and start the car. At that point, you have to cycle through the various items.

In the end, it works like a champ and just made me feel like I have a new van because I can now attach to the radio like most new cars do today. All of this for $120 is not bad. Honestly, I don't see the use for the CD player anymore but oh well.

IZOD Seersucker Blazer Blueprint Medium

IZOD Seersucker Blazer Blueprint Medium

This book recreates the story of Toni Stone, a ballplayer from the time she was in her teens. Unlike other pieces on Stone, which are articles or chapters, this is an entire book, and it's not padded. The author starts with Stone's life as a child in St. Paul, Minnesota, where Toni so persistently hung around ball games and ballplayers that she got asked to play by boys teams, by white teams, by older teams. Toni Stone was the real thing: a ballplayer.

Curveball covers Toni's life in San Francisco and her life on the road with the Indianapolis Clowns. The terrifying conditions that black Americans faced as they traveled through the Jim Crow South are realistically depicted. The discrimination that Toni Stone faced from her own teammates are likewise realistically portrayed.

Considering the fact that she had very few statistics to work with (Negro League games weren't meticulously recorded the way MLB games are), Ackmann has done an excellent job of recreating the baseball parts of Toni's life. There are places where explanations slow down the book, mainly in the middle, but the book as a whole recreates and pays tribute to the life of a strong woman who was also a ballplayer. Thanks to Ackmann's research and writing, the story of Toni Stone has been saved for posterity.

UPDATE - Kensun was happy to send me a replacement ballast within a day of my contacting them - I could not be happier with their service. headlights are functioning as they should (have to get on the fog lights now). Thanks Kensun.... great affordable kit for a great lighting experience while driving!!!

Easy install, BUT..... it has only been 5 months, and one of the ballasts has stopped working. this is the second set in 4 years that has done this to me. First it was the right side, but i figure i got a couple of years out of that one.... so i bought a new kit, and now 5 months later after installing, the left ballast is shot. I am now awaiting word on what they will do for a replacement of that particular ballast.

I have no complaints when they are working properly. it is a HUGE difference using this bulbs compared to conventional bulbs. regular bulbs look yellow, and dim, i use the 8000k, and when both sides are working it is unreal how much light they provide for viewing while going down dark streets, driving in the country roads with no lights is no problem!!!

if you were thinking about it, make the switch. it is worth it!

works as expected so far

Sachs SG330019 Lift Support

Sachs SG330019 Lift Support

I'll begin this review with the important caveat that I've only had my K3 for a day, so it's possible in a week, it will explode, leaving scorch marks on my hands and tears in my eyes. That being said, apocalyptic scenarios aside, this thing is amazing!

The "feature" that will strike you first is how small it is, especially if you're a K2 user. The width is perfect for a "man's hands," being easily held between the thumb and middle finger. This isn't necessarily the most comfortable way, but it's a good sign of the size. Even my wife with "woman's hands" thinks it's far easier to hold than the K2 (not that the K2 was difficult, mind you). It HAS taken some time figuring out how best to hold it, since some of the K2 real estate is missing, but it's definitely nice to have something this small.

The weight is what'll hit you next. Or rather, it WON'T hit you. In fact, if you looked away, you might wonder if you were actually holding it. The K3 gives new definition to the word "featherweight," and is a delight to hold for longer reading sessions. The K2 is like a brick compared to this.

The screen and/or speed are the "last" of the first impressions. From a faster boot up to richer blacks to snappier page turning to faster highlighting, the K3 does not disappoint. Text is sharp and crisp, and the screen refresh when turning a page is EASILY "20% faster" (I'd say twice that). The new fonts are an added benefit.

After these three "first impressions," other things strike you at various intervals. The new 5-way navigation device is amazing! It's not as tactilely "present" as the K2, but defintely responsive and far less likely to break off. The "rubberized" back feels nicer than the K2 metal back and isn't slick or sticky, just the perfect amount of grip. The power button is larger and easier to slide (though it's on the bottom, which has resulted in a few "tummy sleeps") . The Keyboard is easier to "thumb-type" on. The graphite color only serves to further enhance the text. And there's a "Back" button at the left AND right!!!! PDF reading is much faster now, thought the 6" screen is still the limiting factor.

The absence of numbers is a bit of a drawback, and I'm disappointed that Amazon didn't at least stencil in the numbers above the letters.

Overall, I've VERY impressed by the K3. The loss of the row of number buttons is a bit of a miss, but they're far less important than the letters and the smaller size. (Sure, you can hold down ALT and press the buttons along the top for numbers, but it can get annoying when you're counting in to make sure you hit 6, not 7) Amazon really got it right this time, and at a price of $139, I can't see much reason NOT to spring for this one.

Happy Kindling!!!!

EDIT: One VERY important caveat on the Wi-Fi only version: it does NOT handle WPA Enterprise (as noted in Amazon's product description). For college students, this could be a deal-breaker. I'm lucky that my campus has an unsecured network, but if it didn't, I'd have no wi-fi options aside from home and the random Starbucks. I'm a bit frustrated by this (hopefully Amazon will address it with a future software update). WEP, WPA/WPA2 personal networks work fine.

Coolest gizmo for cars ever

BrainyTrade ELM327 Bluetooth CAN BUS Diagnostic

BrainyTrade ELM327 Bluetooth CAN BUS Diagnostic

Great- Especially for a First Novel

Lightning Bolt and Blazer ebook

Lightning Bolt and Blazer ebook

This is a delightful book. It's actually the second mystery featuring the "red blazer girls" (so named for their NYC private-school uniform), but I listened to this one first and didn't feel like I missed a thing (however it did make me want to go back and read the first one). These middle-school girls are a little snappy (think Gilmore Girls-type dialogue), but they are really fun, too. I wonder if author Michael Beil grew up with sisters or has tween girls of his own, because he's right on with the characters.

They are smart and talented -- the kind of girls you'd want your daughters to hope to be, instead of the latest Disney teen sensation.

Though they act and experience life as the kids of today do (complete with cell phones, laptops, and an overachieving level of involvement), this book also reads as somewhat of a classic kid's book -- the kind that I would have liked when I was 12 (and the kind I like right now).

The girls are hot off of solving their first case, The Ring of Racomadour, when the nun at their school asks them to help her figure out who is responsible for all the unexplained goings on in the school. In the midst of investigating this, the girls get pulled in to another mystery when Rebecca (the musical one), is sent a mysterious letter directing her to find a rare violin.

The mystery unfolds as more notes are sent, and it involves wordplay and puzzles, which would be fun for the reader to try to discover on her own, or marvel at Margaret (the brainy one), as they discover the answers, and is probably the one drawback, though slight, to the audio version.

Highly recommended.

AUDIO NOTES: The narrator did a great job of sounding like a teen. Sometimes this can be hard. She was bright and upbeat and made listening to it a joy -- so much so that when my 12-year-old did go back to book one, The Ring of Racomadour she selected the audio version of that as well.

Torrid Plus Size Chloe Jacket

Torrid Plus Size Chloe Jacket

When this sub came in there was a label on the shipping package that said "Team lift". So, yes, this sub is super heavy. I also got a box to go with it (70 lbs.) and it takes up the space in the back of my 98 Blazer. It's not even broke in yet and when the really low bass hits, my roof and doors flex! I have a Rockford Fosgate class D 1000 watt (rms) mono block amp to push it. When you buy this sub you will be paying for quality and massive bass, not the brand name (like JL Audio). Make sure you have all the right gauge wire sizes that it specifies. I just bought a Rockford Fosgate 400w 4 channel amp to power my door speakers and tweaters because the bass drownds most of the highs out. I have'nt hooked up the 400w yet but when I do and the sub breaks in I can finally kick that bad boy into high gear! Over all, this is the best BOOM for your buck. 52% off original price. Was still in factory box with factory seals, perfect condition. When you go with Rockford Fosgate, you wont ever look at any other brands. HIGHLY recommended. Go get it!!

cute and simple

Buckmark Browning Logo Notebook Sticker

Buckmark Browning Logo Notebook Sticker

While I was on vacation I noticed these monogram necklaces in a couple of boutiques and also saw them on Pinterest and decided to turn to Amazon to see if there were any available. Low and behold I saw the XXL Statement Monogram Necklace and the reviews were great so I decided to take a chance. I was a little confused at checkout on whether I put the initials I wanted in the right place, so I e-mailed the manufacture and they wrote back that they received my request and verified what I wanted, which automatically put my mind at ease about this purchase. I ordered two, and they both came earlier than the two weeks, which was great. I love the size of this. The sterling silver is shiny and it looks so custom and expensive. The price was way more affordable than at the boutiques that I originally saw them at. I ordered the 18' length which is perfect for me and it came in a cute little box with a bow, so the other one I bought is ready to go to give my daughter in law for Mother's Day. I cannot say enough about how this is my new go to favorite piece of jewelry. Something like this reminds me of a locket or a string of pearls, it is timeless and always in style, something I tend to look for in acquiring a collection of jewelry. So far I have worn this with my work blazer, a long spring dress, and a tank top and jeans. I love the versatility of this and I love that it signifies my new initials after getting married. This is a fabulous gift for Mother's Day or a bride to be. I have received compliments from my friends, family, co-workers, and perfect strangers. I was a little hesitant about ordering something I haven't seen in person, but let me tell you...This is the real deal. I would recommend this company to anyone that wants to invest in this beautiful necklace that I absolutely adore!!!
