ASUS G75VX G75VX BHI7N09 17 3 Inch Laptop
I got this about a week ago and love it. In general I agree with the other post as of this writing far as the laptop goes. Only things I can really comment on as downside is the 5400 hd and the placement of the volume controls since you need to hold down Fn key to use them with them on opposite sides of the keyboard also it comes with windows 8. I will also say that this thing is a brick as in heavy and not something you'd be carrying around for casual use and not the most comfortable if you do sit it on your lap. At the same time though that weight and just sturdy construction makes it feel like one you don't have to worry about damaging easily. So ya maybe get a SSD added and IF can switch to win 7, 8 is just not that practical for lap tops especially without touch screens and adds unnecessary steps to do things. Other wise just enjoy using a really good laptop.

3-Lots of ways to customize the pc.
4-Endless amounts of memory, and power.
5-You can work this Laptop hard everyday with out even the slightest hesitation on it's part.
6-Awesome sound system!
7-Very bright back light.
8-Graphics card allows you play a lot of the tames you'd play on a desktop with out issues, provided you lower and ajust some settings. But over all you won't feel like you have to sacrifice to much in performance, just in the quality.
9-It's not that heavy. For what it offers it's not as heavy as previous models.
10-Sturdy fee, great rubber coating, quality parts and assembly.
Con's.
1-squeaky space bar ( right side). Key's feel somewhat flimsy, they should be redesigned better, however aside from the squeeky spacebar, the keys are great for typing
2-Don't expect much from the battery life. However if you dim down the lights and etc, you should get about 5 hours. realistically, I got about 3 hours with hard running.
3-Why doesn't this machine come with a recovery disc!!

PLEASE NOTE THAT BEFORE YOU BUY THIS MACHINE THINKING THAT YOU'RE GOING TO WATCH 3D MOVIES STRAIGHT OUT THE BOX. YOU WILL NOT. ITS 3D CAPABLE, NOT 3D READY. MEANING YOU CAN HOOK THIS UP TO A SCREEN THAT IS 3D CAPABLE ( 120HZ) THE SCREEN ON THIS PARTICULAR MODEL IS ONLY 60HZ -70HZ.
THE MODEL THAT IS 3D READY WILL COST AN EXTRA 700 DOLLARS I BELIEVE.
I am not a gamer but I am serious power user and I wanted to find a high performance laptop to get work done and specifically do Web development with Visual Studio and SQL Server. I looked around quite a bit and I'm so glad that I purchased this laptop.
BalasHapusThis laptop is a monster. And i mean it in a good way. Yes it is heavy but it is more powerful than the very recent Lenovo workstation that I bought just a few months ago and i like this laptop so much that while at work, I find myself using this laptop when I could use my Lenovo workstation linked to a ultra high resolution 30" display.
Basically it is just the high performance laptop I wanted to purchase to get my work done.
If you purchase this, two upgrades are a must. Get a SSD drive and an extra 16 GB of RAM. That bumps your total ram to 24 GB and then you can set your SSD as your primary boot drive and install windows there. I installed a fresh copy of Windows 8 Pro on my SSD and then used the 1 TB drink it came with asa backup "data" drive for storing photos, videos, and such. With the SSD and the extra RAM you will have a powerful computer no mater what you decide to do with it.
This laptop is by far the best investment I've ever made. Only day two of use and im in love...Vey fast load and surf..easy to install new devices such as printer mouse etc...
