Koolertron License Plate Backup Camera
For $15 this is absolutely amazing. Especially the quality at night shocked me the picture I uploaded was taken in complete darkness, customer photo Volvo s70.
Only problem was it was to wide and covered my tags, easy enough to fix just sawed off the ends now fits perfect.
The picture is amazing in daylight and nighttime, nice guide overlay, and easy to install. Anyone wondering, I just cut the cord ran it threw a hole I made in my license plate light, sealed around the cord, once the wire is cut there's 3 more wires inside power, video, ground just reconnect the wires by color. Hooked power to the reverse lights and ran cords to my double din. Easy as that. Will update if I have any problems but so far its been freezing and snowy and rain and have not had a problem with it.
Just a tip if water gets on the glass it may distort the picture a bit, just rub some rainx or wax on and it beads off nicely.
Will update if anything happens, but really for $15 can't ask for more, let's just see if it will last.

Have been using this for about a year now and have not had any problems with it. Picture is still very clear. I have hand washed and used laser car washes and never had water leak into the camera.
I would still recommend this to anyone that wants a easy to install back up camera.

BalasHapusHooks up with 2 plugs and easy to mount, picture isn't the best as far as the camera goes, but for the price I'm not complaining.
BalasHapusVery nice quality rear camera. Works well in low/no light use. The only issue that I have is that it obscures the date sticker for the license tag, which may be an issue if stopped. There was some moisture observed in the housing of the camera after the first week, but it has not affected the quality of the picture or operation of the device. Overall, I'm very pleased with this camera, especially since the price is so low.

Can't speak for the reliability of the product, but for the price, my standards are not set too terribly high. It would also be very easy to replace the product as the wiring unplugs from the rest of the wiring harness.
As other reviewers have noted, the wires are very thin, but again, this is not an expensive camera! Won't be too much of a loss if the camera is stolen.
5 stars because it works better than expected for a camera of this price! Hope the video helps!
Honestly the picture quality looks a little grainy. Then again, I wasn't expecting a great quality picture for $15. After all I only have to use it when I'm backing up.
BalasHapusBut this little guy does what it's supposed to. I'm driving an 04 Saturn ION. The rear end sits up a bit high so there's a 5 ft blind spot right behind me. This takes care of it completely. You see, I'm a delivery driver for Dominos Pizza. I'm pulling in and backing out of complete strangers driveways almost on a daily basis - figured this would save me from a potential lawsuit and loss of job.
I have had several of these cameras - this one is the best bang-for-buck.

I recommend it and would buy the same model again.
Because my in dash unit had the input for one I decided to hook this camera up to it. I have a grand prix so it's not like I have a huge truck. But the windows are tinted dark and sometimes it's hard to see at night. Well it works. I didnt expect anything other than a picture and it's actually a little better than that. The night vision with my backup lights are more than enough. I do recommend a noise filter like on another review. Really sharpened up the video noise.
