This book is an excellent reference for classics that should be considered for every woman's wardrobe. Note that I say considered--each person has to look at her lifestyle to determine what works best for her. This being said, his choices are ones that have stood the test of time. He makes excellent recommendations for wardrobe combinations, using other pieces named in the book (or not). Almost every piece that is suggested can be found at any price range, with a few exceptions such as leather purses and well-made shoes, which will require a little more of an investment. The organization of the book was a plus as items were categorized according to activity--work, entertaining, play, etc. If a category doesn't apply, one can skim that chapter and move on. Pictures and written advice work together to give an easy understanding of how pieces can be used to make the most of a wardrobe. He rarely suggests one identical item that will work perfectly for every woman, but instead gives a list of possibilities for different body types. This book has a prized place in the very few books I keep on this topic.
