Excellent product and Great upgrade for 1996-2001 models

Delphi FJ10565 Fuel Injector

Delphi FJ10565 Fuel Injector

I just put this part on yesterday. It was constructed very well, and came with the new mounting bracket required to install it. I installed it on my 96 Chevy Blazer 4x4, in under 2 hours time, with ease. I have no complaints as of yet. The part completely cured; fuel leaking into my intake, my hard start issue, and my rough idle. My fuel pressure is now where it should be, and now I can enjoy knowing that when I turn my key it will start every time without hesitation. Do yourself a favor, and if you need this part don't buy any other brand besides Delphi,or AcDelco. Trust me you will not be satisfied for long. Things to consider when buying this are to also purchase any new gaskets that you would encounter while installing this part. This will only come with gasket that seals the metering body to the upper intake plenum.

  1. The fuel injector unit came quickly, and in excellent condition, ready for use. Not listed in the product description is the included mounting clip and fuel pressure regulator, another bonus to this product.

Installs in 2 hours, and immediately improves the drivability of your vehicle if you are experiencing injector challenges. This unit features the multi-port design vs the central injector with poppet valves of the 1996 through 2001 model years. I would suggest this product to anybody with one of these GM vehicles. Since installation my gas mileage has improved as well as my truck starting quicker and having better throttle response.

  2. I bought this for 2000 chevy blazer, 4.3L (W) engine. It came with the bracket so I did not need the bracket I ordered. Although the kit only came with the o-ring for the injector body and manifold, you would still need to buy the upper intake manifold gasket kit for the other 2 gaskets (upper manifold gasket and the throttle body gasket). The problem I had with my truck was the check engine light was on "P0135 random misfire code", rough running, and hard starting when hot. When I checked the fuel pressure, the pressure dropped to near zero within a minute of turning the key on and then again it would drop to zero within a minute of turning the key off. When I pulled off the manifold it was obvious that fuel pressure regulator. This kit came with a new fuel pressure regulator and is the upgraded SCPI Conversion to MFI version which eliminates the poppet injectors. If you knock off the cost of the regulator, the cost of the kit about equaled the cost of just one new old style injector, So its a good buy and it saved me time of performing a diagnostic and installing new o-rings on the original injectors. The new injection system took me 2 evenings to replace and the truck runs great. I was pleasantly surprise to see that these injectors were still Made In USA.

  3. great oem product, saved me 150 dollars from buying anywhere in town and it was an oem product, the brands at auto parts stores were not. came with the holding bracket so did not have to buy extra. it was packed decently, the outside box was a little smashed but the inside box holding the fuel injector was undamaged, if you are in need of one of these amazon is definitely the place to buy for price and quality cant be beat.

  5. I had misfires and after hours of troubleshooting I found my meter body was leaking raw gas into 3 intake ports. I installed this product and was very satisfied. The price of this product was good too.

  6. I have a '96 Blazer 4.3 (W engine). I needed to replace the injector spider, my old one was clogged.
My mechanic quoted a price of over $400 for the part alone (their price).
He gave me the (Delphi) part # and the lowest price in a Google shopping search was on Amazon.com ($176),
with a gasket set, and a bracket for a little over $200.
The injector came with a bracket, so I didn't need the one I purchased seperately.
I had my mechanic install it, He said it was a perfect fit, including the gaskets.
I saved a couple hundred bucks, and my truck runs great. Couldn't be happier...

  7. I replaced the old poppet style injectors on my 2001 Astro at 158,000 miles. Even with the extra headaches of a van the injectors are not hard to install. The van was experiencing hard starting. Fuel Pressure test verified that the line pressure was bleeding off rapidly instead of taking 10-15 minutes.
MPG increased from about 16 mpg to 19 mpg on the first tank full and it starts right off every time.

  8. Beware this a job not for everyone. You need to be patient, watch what you are doing. This was my first dealing with a spider injector system, but have experience working my own vehicles and am mechanically inclined. This Delphi injector system was just what the old 1999 Astro van needed. It was stalling, hesitating, and then just plain wouldn't start (not even with starting fluid). Ordered the injectors from Amazon with a price no one else could even come close to. The speedy delivery was another plus (it arrived two days before the earliest estimated due date). Spent an hour taking the old parts off, labeling as I went and even took a couple of pictures (just in case). It actually took longer to scrape the old gasket material off the surfaces between the plenum and the lower intake manifold than it did to take it apart. Another 30 to 45 minutes putting it back together. Just work slow, be aware and careful that the number 3 has to go behind and around the number 5, but the parts are very pliable and it went without incident. After refilling the coolant and hooking up the battery, did the required 3 cycles of priming with the ignition key and wham..... she lit right up. Kinda ran rough the first minute or so didn't gun it right off, but smoothed right out. There is a "re-learn" process that a couple of the emissions modules need to do but not a big deal. No SES light, which I did have prior to the install. Three weeks now and it is running better than it has in years and I think the gas mileage is even better. Very satisfied with the purchase and will do it again if the need arises. The total time invested was about four hours.

  9. I own a 1996 S-10 Blazer with a 4.3L V6 engine. Recently, I was having a constant hard-start condition. As I was having fuel-pump problems, I decided to replace it first. However, even after replacing the fuel pump, the hard start condition continued. I did a fuel-pressure check and I discovered that the system would not hold pressure; during Key-on-engine-off condition, the pump would produce about 58 PSI and would go down to zero in about 2 minutes. At this time, I decided to replace the Fuel Injection assembly. I found very favorable reviews of this Delphi unit. I did an online search for the FJ10565 model and Amazon had it available and for a very affordable price. Even though Amazon's "Make Sure It Fits" did not find it to be a match for my vehicle, further research with Delphi and RockAuto gave me a better feel it would work (both claimed it was a direct replacement). I received the part in less than two days and I proceeded to install it. Other than having to remove multiple electrical connectors to sensors and actuators, along with vacuum lines and brackets, the replacement was fairly simple. The unit comes with a set of clear replacement instructions, in which the most critical is to ensure the injector tube #3 is routed behind #5 and #1 (they are flexible, but take your time) and install #3 injector first, followed by #5 and #1, with #6, #4, #2 to follow on the right bank, the unit was very well-made and was a perfect fit.

Upon priming the pump (three cycles of Key-on-Engine-off), the engine started at the first try! I let the vehicle warm up when I noticed some wild variations in RPM (650 to 2800) followed by the engine dying. I checked all vacuum and electrical connectors and tried again. The engine started right away and settled nicely at about 650 RPM. I did a road check and I discovered some hesitation, which fortunately, disappeared after a few minutes. Reviewing additional material, it appears to be that every time you disconnect the IAC (Idle Air Control valve)it has to 'relearn' its range of positions.

I have been testing my vehicle for over 6 days now. I continue to get very easy starts and very smooth idle and acceleration. I just refilled the gas tank and I will be checking for MPG numbers (I used to get about 13 MPG combined). So far, I am very satisfied with this Delphi product.
