great watch for a kids

Casio LWS200H 1ACF Runners 120 Lap Digital

Casio LWS200H 1ACF Runners 120 Lap Digital

I have had this watch for more than 6 months now, and still love it. Bought it for interval training as a way to start jogging. It has two alternating timers with a limit of 10 repetitions. Now, since I am jogging all the way, I don't use the timers that much anymore but the stop watch/lap time feature. After a nice jog, I look back my times and write it down. Apart from the lap times and total time, it also tells you the date and the time the stop watch started running. A good thing if I forget to write down the info! until say a week later. Well, ok, it doesn't exactly automatically keeps track of your improvements (graphs or whatever) but I don't need a more fancy watch.

Love that it is solar powered. I used it as soon as I got it. At first, I was worried since the screen was blank, but as soon as you press a button, it will power up. It goes in stand-by mode if not in use for a long time. The strap is still good (like the 1st day I got it). I have washed my hands (not often though) wearing this watch with no problem.

If you want a runners watch for less than $20, durable, and low maintenance, buying this watch is the way to go.

  1. The reason I bought this is for swimming and going to hot stream room. It is no reason to ruin an expensive watch. Finally I tested it out and want to share with others who use it for similar purpose. I swam in heated swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna 170F, stream room and hot shower for 10 minutes each. Of course, typical jogging also. It can stand under all of those tough condition without a drop of water, stream inside and fading in display. I didn't press button under the water which was not recommended in the manual. I also want it to stay alive for the way I use in tough heat. I suggest to wear on you wrist because my water bottle got pretty hot when stand alone in the sauna. The timer is useful if you don't want to stay in for too long. I don't see that is difficult to control the function. You definitely need to read the whole manual. It has so many functions. The wrist band fits my petite wrist and using the third hole from the shortest side. It doesn't look as huge as many oversize watch nowadays. It even looks cool and can match to little dressy outfit with a blazer. It's very light weight. Please rate my review if it is useful. I do read others reviews before buying it.

  2. I wasn't going to spend a lot of money on a sports watch and this one is perfect. I've had it about a week and so far I love it. Keeps great time and love the fact that it's solar. I always have watches die and hopefully this one will last longer.

  3. I was skeptical about the claims on this watch. I have left it in a sock drawer for two months at a time and it continued to keep time. Once it saw some light, even veery low level artificial light, the screen came up and the time was perfect. Nice watch. Will buy more before we run out of oil.

  4. well, I chose this watch for my 11 yrs son.
Because band, case, face size fit well for his wrist.
Solar powered is the selling point, battery never run out as long let it expose 5 min/day in the sun.
He now can play with the light, alarm all he wants.
Casio's quality is no match for any other brand.
    Highly recommend!

  5. I was looking at substantially pricier Casio solar G-shock or Baby-G watches but I was uncomfortable with the prospect of my son losing a watch in that price range - this ~$23 watch fit the bill! The watch is a perfect fit on my 9-year old son's thin 5" wrists (he uses the 2nd to smallest hole on the watch band). Now, after a couple months of active summer camp activities (swimming, play sword fighting, rough housing) this watch appears to be no worse for the wear. The face of the watch is protected by slightly raised areas around the watch face to help prevent scratches on the watch face. He was thrilled to receive his first "grown up watch" and enjoys fiddling with the functions: alarms, stopwatch, and countdown timer. At $23, it is tough to go wrong with a Casio solar watch - highly recommended!

  6. This watch was purchased as a gift for my wife. She absolutely loves it: the weight, style, features, ruggedness, and freedom from maintenance (battery changes, etc.) Despite the recommendation that this watch be left in sunlight or available light for recharging, we have found that it seems to keep on ticking' (silently) with NO attention to where it is left. This reflects my experience with my Casio solar watch that I have had for 5 years--ZERO problems or maintenance, and I store it in a drawer when I am not wearing it.

With this watch, my wife now has time for me.
