Metra 99 3301 Installation Multi Kit 2000 2007
I put an Alpine deck in this Metra 99-3301 dash kit for my 2003 Chevy Cavalier and it fit great.
This kit is made large enough so that your single DIN stereo deck can go through it without the stereo's DIN sleeve.
With some dash kits you slide the stereo's DIN sleeve into the kit and pull DIN sleeve tabs up so it stays in place. That way you can slide the new deck in and out using the DIN tools that came with your deck without having to remove the dashboard.
With this kit you have to take off the stereo's DIN sleeve first, before putting the deck through it. Once in place you simply screw it in and it fits perfectly. Then you reinstall your dashboard. The caveat here though is every time you want to add a new deck or take this deck out you have to remove the dashboard.
You cant put a din sleeve through the kit along with the radio in this particular kit because there is not enough space and the lip of the sleeve will not make contact with the front of the kit to hold it in place because the top border of this Metra 99-3301 sticks out a bit further than the bottom border. So even if you did manage to wedge it in it wouldnt fit properly. It might be why some people are having issues with the size here. They forgot to take out the DIN sleeve when installing it themselves. Its a single DIN opening that should fit all single DINs since they are all one regulation size.
Im happy with the style and look of it so i went with this. Plus it was easy to install. No cutting required. Just pop the 2 outer tabs into the main box and its done.

The kit I was sold for my Cavalier from ABC warehouse was a generic one. This particular one fits perfectly with the dash trim and looks natural. If you have a Cavalier or Sunfire and want to replace the stereo, THIS is the one you need.

BalasHapusSimple, easy, and good quality. Not the cheapest one, but I think it's the best. No bending of metal tabs, crimps, or hokey radio sleeves that rattle. This unit allows a direct screw mounting of the radio chassis to the mounting kit, rock solid and easy as pie. Literally a 10 minute assembly and prep for install. Highly recommended!

BalasHapusI installed this in my wife 2006 Trailblazer EXT, and it fits great! The face of my head unit hits the bottom lip when you open it, but works perfect otherwise!
BalasHapusI bought this for my 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier to install an Alpine head unit. The head unit fits perfectly flush with no gap at all. Very easy to install and the design looks great. You can't even tell it's not stock.

BalasHapusThis item fits beautifully in my 2003 Chevy Cavalier. It installs very easily and firmly and matches the trim very nicely. One issue however, the instructions for dash removal on the Cavalier misses two crucial bolts to taking off the dash so be sure to read the Haynes manual or find other instructions so you don't miss the two brass bolts holding the airbag shell to the car.
